Welcome to the RUM 2025 website This year's meeting is held in Strasbourg, on May 12-16, and organized by Observatoire astronomique de Strasbourg RAMSES is an open source code written by Romain Teyssier to model astrophysical systems, featuring self-gravitating, magnetised, compressible, radiative fluid flow. Based on the Adaptive Mesh Refinement (AMR) technique, it has been widely used for cosmological simulations of the Universe, isolated as well as cosmological resimulations of individual galaxies, simulations of molecular clouds, star formation, supernovae remnants, accretion disks around black holes and planets. Now in its 13th year, the Ramses User Meeting (RUM) aims to bring together RAMSES users of all levels to present scientific results, new technical developments and challenges. Participation is free of charge, but you have to organize your travel, meals, and accomodation. The core workshop and presentations will take place on May 12-14, and the Hackathon on May 15-16. In the left-side menu, you can register for the meeting and suggest a talk title and abstract. Please note that the venue has a maximum capacity of 56, so register as soon as possible. Talk schedule The program for the oral presentations of monday to wednesday can be found here: Talks are 15 min total (with two exceptions), i.e. 12 min + 3 min questions. The talks will take place in the amphitheater in the main building of the observatory (the one with the large dome). Abstract submission Abstract submission is now closed. Consideration may still be given to last-minute contributions, if the schedule allows (e.g. following another planned talk cancellation). RAMSES HACKATHON Updated: the schedule is here at the end of the program: We will dedicate two days of the RUM (Thu 15-Fri 16) to coding and documenting. The idea is to identify issues with RAMSES, tackle them, improve documentation, add test problems and brainstorm in general. Some tutorials may also be given, for instance for mini-Ramses and rascas. Hackathon participation is optional: register only for the first three days of the meeting if you do not wish to hack. You can also use the last two days of the meeting for science collaboration with other participants. Please have a look at the spreadsheet below, describing the various sessions proposed, and write down your name so we can prioritize the topics and sessions. You can of course register for several sessions. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1UBpQavbrB6JIUTBqrg8rYogirogBVWgiqI6Y6L-muKc/edit?usp=sharing The SOC will meet on tuesday to setup a definitive schedule, based on interest of participants expressed via the spreadsheet. VENUE: Observatoire Astronomique de Strasbourg The RUM2025 will take place at Observatoire Astronomique de Strasbourg, located 11 rue de l'Université, 67000 STRASBOURG, in the main building (with the large dome on top). Please make sure you arrive at 11 rue de l'Université, as the other access (rue de l'Observatoire) is closed. Visitors often get confused by this, so have your googlemaps or equivalent with you as you approach the Observatoire. So if you arrive by tram, and stop at 'Universités' you need to walk towards the 'Observatoire' stop and you will see the building on your left. If you stop at 'Observatoire', you need to walk towards the stop 'Universités' and you will see the building on your right. The presentations will take place in the amphithéatre of the main building. The Hackathon sessions will take place in the salle de réunion (main building basement), and salle de cours (just opposite the amphithéatre, main building), as well as in meeting room in the basement of Bat. sud (just at the right of the main entrance). https://maps.app.goo.gl/3QEaGQVpkmoUi6gA7
Practical information: where to eat/drink? There are a number of options for lunch around the Observatoire, from sandwiches to gastronomical restaurants. Please have a look at the map below. Restaurant and bakeries may be found in the red ellipses. Note the density of restaurants increases in the direction the town center.
